The stake presidency feels impressed to have all teachers in the Pleasant Grove Utah Manila stake listen to interviews and messages the church has published regarding teaching. These recordings were published a few years ago as part of the Teaching, No Greater Call series on the Mormon Channel. There are eight recordings in particular that we invite and encourage all teachers to listen to and review.
The recordings from the Teaching No Greater Call interview series are:
- Episode 15, Elder Bednar on the Importance of Teaching in the Gospel
- Episode 16, Elder Bednar on Teaching in the Gospel Part 2
- Episode 17, Effective Gospel Learning with Elder Jay Jensen
- Episode 18, Effective Gospel Learning with Elder Jay Jensen Part 2
- Episode 3, Teaching by the Spirit- Part 1
- Episode 4, Teaching by the Spirit- Part 2

Stake Training Update
The stake Sunday school presidency will add links and/or reference to these recordings in the stake Sunday School Teaching Fast Track document that is part of the training instruction for all teachers and leaders.
Distribution
The stake presidency will ask the stake high council, the stake council, stake auxiliary presidencies, bishops, and bishoprics to carefully listen to and ponder these recordings before stake conference in June. (June 3 & 4, 2017) We also ask each of these leadership councils to extend the same invitation to our sisters and brothers who are teachers throughout the stake as follows:
- Bishops and bishopric counselors: Ward council members, ward leaders, ward auxiliary leaders, and ward teachers including home and visiting teachers. Bishops may also want to extend this invitation to all Aaronic priesthood quorum and Young Women class leaders.
- Stake high council: Elders quorum presidencies and high priest group leaderships. These leaders can then invite their respective instructors.
- Stake council: Respective stake auxiliary presidencies and ward auxiliary presidencies
As you can see, there may be some double-invitations given, but we hope that all invitations are extended with love, appreciation, and tenderness.
The Invitation
As those we invite might feel busy or overwhelmed, here is our simple feeling on how to extend this invitation:
- This invitation is from the Lord through President Livingston and the stake presidency.
- Share with them that you have sought for your own witness to accept and complete this activity within the time requested. Invite each person to likewise earnestly pray and obtain their own witness.
- Promise that if they do so, the Lord through the Holy Ghost will show them how He will help them become the great gospel teachers He wants them to be.
Follow up
We encourage stake councils to provide time in council settings to reflect upon, share, discuss, and bear testimony about their experiences in this effort.
We encourage ward leaders and councils to likewise follow up in their council meetings.
We invite ward Sunday school presidencies in the Monthly Teacher Council meetings to invite all teachers to share, discuss, and bear testimony about their experiences in this effort.
Reporting (Accountability)
The stake presidency asks to report that these invitations have been extended and that follow up is occurring. Please use the following reporting process:
- All stake leaders and stake auxiliary presidents and leaders report to the stake Sunday school presidency.
- Bishops can assign ward executive secretaries to report to the stake executive secretary, who will then report to the stake Sunday school presidency.
- The stake Sunday school presidency can then report to the stake presidency.
We seek the Lord’s blessings upon each of us in doing this wonderful work of the Lord.
